Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-07-30

These terms govern your use of Storylab — the quarterly professional-development subscription for HR and L&D teams. They cover the subscription agreement, your account, what you can and can’t do with the service, and the legal terms that apply between you and Storylab.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

These Terms of Service govern your use of Storylab, the quarterly subscription programme operated by Storylab for human-resources and learning-&-development teams. By creating an account or otherwise accessing the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the organisation that enrols its cohorts.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Storylab. If you accept these terms on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation, and “you” in these terms refers to that organisation as well as to you personally.

2. Account obligations

To access the programme you must create an account through our authentication provider. Keep your sign-in credentials confidential, and make sure the profile and contact information on the account are accurate and current. You are responsible for every action taken under your account, whether or not you authorised it, until you tell us the credentials have been compromised.

Notify Storylab at the address below if you suspect unauthorised use of your account, if your sign-in details have been disclosed, or if a member of your cohort leaves the organisation and should no longer have access.

3. Subscription, billing, and auto-renewal

Storylab is sold as a recurring subscription billed monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select. Payment is processed through Stripe-hosted Checkout, which collects card or bank details directly on Stripe’s pages; Storylab never sees or stores raw card numbers, CVVs, or bank credentials on its own servers.

Subscription prices are computed server-side and shown before you confirm checkout. The plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period for the same term and price (subject to changes we publish with reasonable notice), until you cancel from your Account area. Renewals are charged to the payment method on file with Stripe, and you can update that method through the billing portal.

4. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Account area; cancellation stops the next renewal but does not retroactively refund the current billing period, which runs to the end of the term you have already paid for. The service remains available to your cohorts until the end of that period.

Refund policy: [operator to specify the refund window that matches the deploy — e.g. “a 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers, no refunds on renewals”]. Refunds are issued through the same payment method that was charged, via Stripe.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use Storylab for its intended purpose — running the subscription programme for the cohorts you enrol — and not to abuse the service, other customers, or the people building it. In particular, you must not attempt to scrape, copy, reverse-engineer, or resell the programme materials; you must not interfere with the security or availability of the service; you must not use Storylab to violate any applicable law; and you must not upload content that infringes the rights of anyone else.

We may suspend or restrict access for users or organisations that breach these rules, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach, while we investigate.

6. Intellectual property

Storylab and its licensors own the subscription programme, the written modules, the facilitation materials, the assessments, the brand, and the underlying software. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of that to you — you receive a licence to use it for your enrolled cohorts while your subscription is active.

You retain ownership of the content and materials you bring into the programme — the names of your cohorts, your internal write-ups, and the work your team does with the materials. By using the service, you give Storylab a limited licence to host and display that content as needed to run the programme for you.

7. Confidentiality

Each party may receive non-public information from the other — subscriber lists, enrolment details, the substance of a cohort’s work, or the unpublished programme materials. Both parties agree to treat that information with reasonable care, to use it only to perform under these terms, and not to disclose it to anyone outside the parties except as required by law.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Storylab is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the outcomes reported through the programme will meet any specific business objective.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under or in connection with these terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Termination

You may stop using Storylab at any time by cancelling your subscription from your Account area. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, fail to pay amounts that are due, or if we are required to do so by law. Where reasonable, we will give you notice before suspension so that you have an opportunity to address the issue.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [operator to insert the governing jurisdiction — e.g. “England and Wales”] and any dispute arising under them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that place.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes to these terms, we will post the updated version here with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of Storylab after the revised date constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Non-material changes (typo fixes, clarifications, contact-address updates) take effect on posting.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms should be sent to legal@storylab.app — replace this address with the operator’s real legal contact before public launch.

End of terms.

If anything in these terms is unclear, write to us — we would rather answer a question than have you guess. The address in section 12 is the place to start.
